Scott Sigmund

IT

Scott Sigmund is an accomplished technology and operations executive with over 25 years of experience delivering major cost reductions, leveraging global reach and vendor resources, and developing new business models to utilize key technologies.   He possesses a proven ability to improve service quality and delivery, consolidate complex infrastructures, turn-around underperforming operations, and build/sustain scalable, industry-leading architectures.  He is a strategic business thinker who aligns technology requirements to consistently exceed corporate objectives and performance targets.  He is also proficient in the creation and development of world class IT teams and is a corporate partner in all areas.

Earlier in his career Mr. Sigmund exceled in various customer facing operations and technology positions with MasterCard Worldwide, quickly establishing himself as a leader and earned a nomination for MasterCard’s executive coaching program, reserved only for a few.  During his time as a member of MasterCard’s executive leadership team Mr. Sigmund served in 3 different roles and was tasked with improving both operations and technology organizations.  A few of his most notable contributions include authoring two global technology refresh RFP’s and overseeing two next generation global architecture redesigns.   Mr. Sigmund renegotiated tier 1 global service contracts saving $11M annually, while also reducing annual financial commitments by $25M, and simultaneously shortening all contract terms to 24 months with coterminous alignment.  He dedicated two years to MasterCard’s IPO, and held executive responsibilities for regulatory compliance.  Mr. Sigmund was chartered with oversight of integrations resulting from M&A’s in Europe and Australia and recovered $13M from a forensic telecom audit (contract compliance); followed by authoring two separate RFP’s to improve telecom lifecycle management globally.  In his last leadership role with MasterCard, Mr. Sigmund was tasked with turning around an underperforming global operations team.  After completing a CMM assessment, Mr. Sigmund defined, communicated, gained support for, and implemented an ITSM business case to reduce ongoing IT operations expense by $17M.  An additional $12M in licensing penalties was avoided through implementation of industry best practice software compliance and asset management principles.  He replaced 5 legacy help desks with 2 global service desks while implementing a single platform to reduce licensing costs by $3M and raised global network availability to 99.999%.

After MasterCard Mr. Sigmund leveraged his extensive background towards consulting services, assisting in strategy development, business relationship management, vendor performance negotiations & improvements, program management, operational process improvement, business case development (ROI), communications, RFP guidance, M&A, Private Equity, and integration strategies.

In January 2013 Mr. Sigmund assumed the CIO role with Integrity Solution Services, a top ten Business Process Outsourcer (BPO) in the Contact Center and Accounts Receivable Management (ARM) industry.   ISSI is the culmination of 3 independent acquisitions by private equity investors.  Mr. Sigmund inherited a fragmented and distributed IT organization spread across 10 locations, including 2 large international centers, 4 disparate data centers with no economies of scale, and 6 legacy CRM platforms lacking maintenance and support.  Mr. Sigmund completed his initial IT assessment in less than 45 days and developed a 2-year transformation and maturation strategy at 60 days.  At 90 days he refreshed the leadership team, restructured and realigned IT to become a service-focused organization and began to centralize core IT dependencies.  At 120 days Mr. Sigmund completed an 80% TCO assessment and launched the first of several RFP’s to consolidate vendor dependencies and leverage spend to save $3M annually in infrastructure costs alone.  At 180 days he completed a SAM engagement and compliance assessment, reducing annual software licensing by $1.8M.  Mr. Sigmund personally wrote new Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to rapidly mature a less than best practice audit and compliance culture.  He built an internal compliance organization to better manage customer/client audits, SSAE16 adherence, and regulatory compliance including; PCI, HIPAA, SOX, CFPB, TCPA and FDCPA.  Through application of leading edge virtualization technologies Mr. Sigmund reduced physical server dependencies from over 400 to 17.  His strategy included technical simplification to reduce maintenance and labor costs and improving the corporate business acumen to migrate towards a standard services and solutions portfolio to create economies of scale.  Mr. Sigmund achieved these accomplishments while maintaining flat headcount against poor corporate financial performance.

In 2015 Mr. Sigmund was recruited by Dell Services to turnaround an underperforming Managed Services practice. Decreasing revenues, combined with several tier one ITO/BPO customers  approaching the end of existing contracts and dissatisfied with Dell’s performance, were subsequently entertaining exit strategies.  Mr. Sigmund’s presence, breadth of experiences, and inherit communication talents, enabled him to quickly gain buy-in for his strategies from the executive teams on both sides and implement necessary changes to improve services and support.  For 18 consecutive months after implementing Mr. Sigmund’s strategies, not a single contractual/performance SLA was  missed, whereas prior to Mr. Sigmund’s arrival, monthly credits were being issued.  Mr. Sigmund’s efforts cumulated in 16% increase in revenues, and a new 8-year contact with a TCV of more than $120M.

Mr. Sigmund has been a keynote speaker at the National AITP conference, as well as SIM conferences, and CIO forums. He has an Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force and has completed course work towards a BA in Biblical/Theological Studies from Grand Canyon University.  Mr. Sigmund holds a Master’s Certificate in Organizational Leadership from Villanova University, in addition to completing Leadership studies at MIT’s Sloan School of Management as part of the MasterCard Executive Coaching program with Leadership Alliance.   Additionally, Mr. Sigmund holds ITIL and Six-Sigma certifications.
