CAITLIN RUTH BIO

Caitlin Ruth is the Owner and Designer at Caitlin Ruth Interior Design where she partners with her clients to curate striking yet livable spaces. 

Her involvement in successful Superyacht refits, home renovations and working for ultra-high-end clients has propelled her career to include having been named Protégé and Director of Special Projects alongside one of the Interior Design industry’s most well-respected celebrity Designers, Michelle Workman. While working with Ms. Workman, Caitlin was on the design team of client projects and exhibition-style projects, to include Showhouses and an entertaining feature in the national magazine, Traditional Home. 

As a kid, Caitlin dreamed up completely renovating her childhood home. She designed and made her own bedding and clothes. Much to the annoyance of her mom, she would pull items out the cupboards, to throw out the unused, clean and place everything back in the cupboards in an organized manner; usually color-coded and in size order. 

To this day, she maintains the same solutions-based thinking for all her clients, mastering how things can be better in mind, body and environment.

Before exploring land, Caitlin served as a Stewardess onboard Superyachts. During her tenure she cruised S.E. Asia, Central and South America, North America and Australia / Southern Ocean. She is now not only an expert at folding linens of any and all sizes but can use blue tape as the solution for almost any household issue. While other stewardesses were (quite literally) throwing up on the Crew Mess floor during one passage from Bali, Indonesia to Melbourne, Australia via the Southern Ocean, Caitlin was delving into the strongest bottle of sea sickness tabs, Seabands ON and inhaling lavender oil like some kind of addict simply to avoid hearing the Captain’s old speech of: “…They just don’t make them like they used to…” This is the same Captain taking a gorgeous, marble-clad, crystal glass-bearing, 51m Feadship yacht South into F7+ weather (picture: The Perfect Storm with a luxury yacht).

Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Caitlin finds home in Chattanooga, TN, U.S.A. where she loves a solid Shin RIn Yoku (Japanese Forrest Bathing… AKA hiking) with her sweet Staffordshire Bullterrier, H.I.I.T. with her favorite instructor and a good morning yoga session.
